Common Air Conditioning Problems

Here are some common air
conditioner problems that you may be experiencing with your own HVAC unit. Not all ac repair companies may know how to fix these issues, so its important to deal with a reputable company that knows how to deal with each problem
individually:

Trapped Debris in the Condenser:

There will always be debris left behind onto your compressor
after a service is performed. Debris such as leaves, bugs, and debris from the air. If this is not cleaned out properly then it will eventually clog up your condenser coil. This causes the unit to overwork itself because in order to try
and cool the house down it has to run longer and longer. In time, this causes a short or a burnout which means you will need a new condenser.

Copper Corrosion on the
Condensing Unit:

When your air conditioning unit is sitting idle outside, it will start to corrode very slowly
over time from the outdoor elements. This is something natural and quite common.
However, if there are noticeable cob webs or thin green lines visible on your
condensing unit then this means that the corrosion is at a stage where you will need to replace the parts suffering from corrosion.

Not Blowing Cold Air:

This is a big sign that something is wrong with your air conditioning unit. Most of the time this happens because there is a leak in your system and it's just not able to cool down. You may try to save money by doing the repairs yourself. However, this is one of those times where it's highly recommended calling the experienced technicians to do it for you instead.

Air Conditioner Doesn't
Turn On:

This is a common problem that we see on a regular basis with both heating and air conditioning. This can either be caused by a blown fuse or even worse, an electrical short inside the system. If you're
not comfortable with dealing with electricity then call our palm coast technicians and we'll send a pro over to your house and get it fixed as soon as we can!

Air Conditioner Makes a
Loud Humming Noise:

This is usually caused
by a fan motor inside of the system that has seized up. If you hear this noise it's recommended to contact us, as further use may cause more damage to your unit.

Air Conditioner Smells
Hot/Burnt:

This problem is most commonly associated with
not having your system cleaned on a regular basis. Over time your air conditioning
unit will get dirty from all of the dust, debris and other particles floating in the air that it's trying to cool down. If you notice that your unit smells hot after a few hours then this is most likely due to it not being properly
cleaned on a regular basis.
